On 15 and 16 May 2025 in Addis Ababa, at the Italian Institute of Culture and with the support of the Embassy of Italy in Ethiopia, will take place the first meeting in presence of the UNITAFRICA project (https://www.unitafrica.it/), the academic cooperation initiative born from the partnership between 21 Italian universities and the Alliance with 78 African universities, within the framework of the PNRR-TNE (Transnational Education Initiatives) projects.
The aim of the UNITAFRICA project, coordinated by the University of Brescia, is to consolidate experiences of academic cooperation in the field of education, through the identification of best practices in education using innovative teaching methods. To this end, in addition to the existing website (www.unitafrica.it ), a multidisciplinary teaching platform will be set up for access by students and faculty from the 99 participating universities.
Access to high-level secondary education is the fundamental aim of this academic cooperation project which, drawing on the 20 years’ experience of CUCS ( https://retecucs.it ), aims to implement it without gender discrimination and in a fair and sustainable manner, in accordance with the standards established in the main international legal instruments (Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063).
Among the many activities of the project, which have already seen the opening meeting between the participating universities at the meeting on 14 February, the establishment of the UNITAFRICA Alliance and the launch of thematic webinars, the Academic Council of UNITAFRICA organized this important event in Africa, both to present the progress of activities and to directly launch the partnership with African colleagues, They will give voice to the concerns of the 18 countries of the sub-Saharan area involved.
The event will take place in mixed mode allowing those who have not had the opportunity to reach the Ethiopian capital to follow remotely.
Il 15 ed il 16 maggio 2025 ad Addis Abeba, presso l’Istituto Italiano di Cultura e con il supporto dell’Ambasciata d’Italia in Etiopia, avrà luogo il primo meeting in presenza del progetto UNITAFRICA (https://www.unitafrica.it/), l’iniziativa di cooperazione accademica nata dal partenariato tra 21 atenei italiani e dall’Alleanza con 78 università africane, nell’ambito dei progetti PNRR-TNE (Iniziative di Educazione Transnazionale).
Scopo del progetto UNITAFRICA, coordinato dall’Università di Brescia, è quello di consolidare esperienze di cooperazione accademica in ambito didattico, attraverso l’individuazione di Best Practices in materia di Education tramite il ricorso a metodi innovativi di insegnamento. A tale fine, in aggiunta al sito web già attivo (www.unitafrica.it), verrà realizzata una piattaforma per la didattica multidisciplinare a cui avranno accesso gli studenti ed il personale docente delle 99 università partecipanti.
L’accesso all’istruzione secondaria di alto livello rappresenta l’intento fondamentale di questo progetto di cooperazione accademica che, forte dell’esperienza ventennale del CUCS (Coordinamento Universitario per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo – https://retecucs.it ), si propone di realizzarlo senza discriminazioni di genere e in modo equo e sostenibile, conformemente agli standard stabiliti nei principali strumenti giuridici internazionali (Agenda 2030 e Agenda 2063).
Tra le numerose attività del progetto, che hanno già visto la riunione di apertura tra le università aderenti nell’incontro del 14 febbraio scorso, la costituzione dell’UNITAFRICA Alliance e l’avvio dei webinar tematici, il consiglio accademico di UNITAFRICA ha organizzato questo importante evento in Africa, sia per presentare lo stato di avanzamento delle attività, sia per avviare in modo diretto il partenariato con i colleghi africani, che daranno voce alle istanze dei 18 paesi dell’area subsahariana coinvolti.
L’evento si svolgerà in modalità mista consentendo a chi non ha avuto la possibilità di raggiungere la capitale etiope di seguire a distanza.
