The UNITAFRICA Webinar Series initiative aims to promote synergies among partner universities in areas such as education and teaching, basic and applied research and community engagement and institutional support.

The first Webinar “Sustainable Energy, environment and natural resource management: the role of university cooperation between African countries and Italy” took place Tuesday April the 29th from 14:00 to 16:00 CEST chaired by Prof. Guido Zolezzi – University of Trento Italy.

A welcoming address was held by Prof. Francesco Castelli, Rector of the University of Brescia – Italy.

Three longer presentations focused on: “Contemporary issues in Teaching and Research Experience in the domain of Green Economy and Climate Change Studies” – Prof. Julius Tata Nfor – University of Dschang – Cameroon.

“Waste management in Ngor/Senegal” – Dr. Ramatoulaye Mbengue – Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar – Senegal.

“The LEAP-RE (long Term Europe Africa Partnership on Renewable Energy) Experience: a flagship programme for the AU-EU Partnership on STI” – Prof. Emanuela Colombo – Politecnico di Milano – Italy.

Followed by 3 minutes session by:

Prof. Ibtisam ElYas Mohamed El Zubeir – University of Khartoum (Sudan)

Dr. Hussein Ibrahim Seid – Wollo University (Ethiopia)

Dr. Atolani Olubunmi – University of Ilorin (Nigeria)
